Nick and Shaina Day, of Lakeland, Florida, thought they had lost their engagement ring forever when Shaina accidentally flushed the ring down the toilet more than 20 years ago. This Christmas, they got the best gift ever: their engagement ring back.
According to Shaina, she and Nick were newly engaged when she took the ring off and accidentally tossed it in the toilet and flushed it more than two decades ago. All efforts to retrieve the ring failed, and the couple believed the ring was lost forever.
Happily, Nick’s parents, who now live at the house where Shaina and Nick had lived 20 years ago, had to replace the toilet. During the process, the ring suddenly appeared. Nick’s parents promptly grabbed the ring, then wrapped the ring in a miniature ceramic toilet and gave it back to the couple as a gift on Christmas morning.
