Dubai-based Gemrock plans its first-ever auction to include 200 lots for sale and buyers from over 40 international companies, Diamond World reports.
Gemrock’s inaugural ruby auction will be held October 3-7 in Bangkok, Thailand, and present “rare, untreated rough rubies of highest provenance, in varying shades of red, ranging from dark red to pink, purple and orange, intense in color and pristine in clarity,” according to the company. The rubies are sourced and handpicked from the Montepuez mine – a ruby deposit located in the northeast of Mozambique within the Cabo Delgado Province.
Rishabh Tongya, Chairman and Founder, Gemrock, commented: “Building upon the strong buying momentum and market demand for Mozambican rubies, we are delighted to offer this inaugural auction at Gemrock, where attendees would be privy to an inventory filled with top-quality rubies […]”.
