The IDEX Price Report for November 2023, published by IDEX Online, shows “some signs of improvements” for prices of Rounds and Fancies.
With Diwali behind and Christmas, as well as Hanukkah, on the horizon, sales are experiencing an upswing as consumers enter the peak season. According to Mastercard SpendingPulse, Jewelry and apparel emerged as the standout winners on Black Friday, contributing to an overall spending increase of 2.5% compared to the previous year.
In November, Rounds continued to experience overall losses, particularly within the 1.50-cts to 5.99-cts range, although not as uniformly as observed in recent months. Instead of a blanket decline, there were isolated instances of price increases across various sizes.
Fancies displayed less favorably in November than in recent months, and there were losses across multiple sizes, especially in higher-quality colors and clarities. An exception to this trend was evident in the 4.00-4.99-cts category, where price increases prevailed.
