According to the IDEX Price report, published by IDEX Online, July was characterized by “more losses […] especially among rounds, as the war continues in Ukraine” and “a more mixed picture for fancies.”
The only category to have a clear upward trend is 4 to 5 carat stones, “which is typical when financial markets are weak and investors seek greater stability,” according to the report.
Among Rounds, there were “heavy losses,” especially among 1.50-carats to 2.99-carats, where the vast majority of L+ and SI3+ goods dropped in price. Among Fancies, the picture is more mixed, “with less activity and less in the way of clear trends, except for near-blanket increases among 5.00-carats to 5.99-carats.”
