IDI CHAIRMAN: HK FAIR AGAIN PROVES ITS MARKETING POWERS

“The September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair has again proved its importance as a strong marketing tool. There is no alternative to the direct communication between the exhibitors and the buyers, and we must not forget online marketing, which has strengthened in recent years”, said Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) Chairman Shmuel Schnitzer on the HK September Fair, which closes today (Sunday).

Schnitzer added that many buyers visited the Israel Diamond Pavilion, including buyers from China, India, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia. Most of the Israeli exhibitors, Schnitzer noted, reported an improved business sentiment and greater interest from buyers than in recent shows. He said that the healthy traffic and interest in the Israel Diamond Pavilion will likely promote future transactions as well.

Schnitzer also said that the Get Diamonds terminals, developed by the IDI and the IDE, were very popular during the show, and that hundreds of buyers used it to connect with Israeli buyers. “This is just the beginning”, Schnitzer promised, adding: “We hope that the HK Fair symbolizes the beginning of the turnaround we’ve been expecting heading the Jewish New Year, and I’d like to wish a good, prosperous Rosh Hashana to all”.

The September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair is the largest trade show of its kind in Asia. The Israel Diamond Pavilion hosts 71 companies. The IDI Lounge at the heart of the pavilion offers Get Diamonds Show search terminals.
